Rural Women Income Rehabilitation Project:
Program for the Advancement of Gender Equality (PAGE) An initiative of the Canadian International Development Agency Canadian High Commission, Islamabad has awarded SYF for the Rural Women Income Rehabilitation Project. Under the project SYF provided poultry and goat to the rural women of the most sensitive and affected rural areas of Tehsil Kabal, Tehsil Charbagh and Tehsil Babozai of District Swat and hence 1200 hens to 300 women with an estimate of 4 hens to each woman were provided. Similarly 150 goats were provided to 150 targeted beneficiaries’ families with a ratio of each goat to each woman. The distribution of Poultry and Livestock was based on the needs and family size of the women and her dependents.

Distribution of Relief Items to the IDPS of Malakand
Keeping in view the situation and the needs of the internally displaced people residing in the camps, scattered population and families living with the host families SYF submitted a project Proposal “Humanitarian Assistance to the Civilian Exodus in NWFP” to Miss. Ella Rolfe, Programme Consultant of Institute of War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) United Kingdom and Partner of SYF for the Open Minds Pakistan Project. Miss. Ella Rolfe on the basis of Humanitarian assistance sought donation from her friends and colleagues in London, the United Kingdom and transferred a total amount of 930 GBP to Swat Youth Front for purchasing of Food Items, Non Food Items, Hygiene Kits and Drawing materials and toys for the displaced families. The relief items were distributed among 25 families living in camps, rented houses and families living with the host families at Kala Bat, District Haripur NWFP, Pakistan.
